I bought Karl in England to be my main "everyday" shopping/transport bike (I owned an alloy road bike and a full suspension MTB then and was getting rid of my old, heavier Merida front suspension hybrid). I actually landed on the Trek FX3 after renting one in NYC through Spinlister (RIP, such a great service) and loving it. He's called Karl cuz he's red like Marx. At this point pretty much everything on him bar the frame and handlebars is no longer original, and I've kitted him out with a Gboost ebike conversion kit (photo is from before). He's still my main shopping bike, tho I use Akasha when I don't want the e-assist. He also has a Loud Bicycle horn to help me make my way through cutthroat traffic, and he looks reassuringly scratched up and weathered, so I don't worry about getting him stolen.
